I used Frontline Tritak on my cat and it has been a nightmare! This product is basically Frontline Plus with an added toxic drug.

It is called Etofenprox and is a pyrethrin-based drug that should NEVER be used on cats. My poor cat has suffered immensely with a red-blood colored burn from the application site, extreme itching, blood in the urine, vomiting, seizures and overall misery.

I called Merial to ask what to do with such a severe reaction and I was told that "they would not speak with a consumer about 'problems' and would only speak to a vet." When I checked with the EPA about the registration for this drug, it was not listed.

Almost every website regarding Frontline Tritak is about dogs--there is a reason for that--it should NOT be used for cats.

Tonight my cat started hysterically biting at the base of his tail almost as if he was having a seizure. I bathed him to get the nasty toxic drug off his skin hoping he gets better.

Monetary Loss: $25.

I have always used frontline plus for my dogs and cats I only bought frontline TRITAK because my Vet was out of frontline plus so I tried it on my dos first on both my dogs one a Great Dane and the other Bird dog both dogs loss hair on different parts of there body but the bird dog had like a really bad rash and look like a burn were I had applied it two weeks later my Bird Dog passed away he did have diabetes but was doing great with that for no reason for him to have gotten so sick so fast

That was a month ago my Great Dane has never gotten her hair back that she has lost from giving her TRITAK I don't want to say every thing happened from TRITAK but I have used over the years flea meds and my dogs have never had any type of side affects

Now I gave it to my cats three of them TRITAK for cats all three of my cats are older two 16 and one 18 the 18 year old has high blood pressure and is on blood pressure med her blood pressure is fine she is seen by the Vet all the time even though she is 18 she acts like she is 7 years old runs around the house playing and yelling at every one that she's the boss very active gave them the TRITAK two weeks ago now she is I Kidney Failure I don't want to point fingers at TRITAK but two animals two weeks after using this
